HIKE SUBMITED BY: Don Seawater (thank you Don)
This hike is a loop from Ragged point (Trail head approx. 100 yards to the south of Ragged Point Inn on the east side of highway 1) to Carpojo camp, then back up a northerly route to the ridge and back down the Ragged Point road to the trailhead. Approximately 11-12 miles. 4 miles of 4-700 foot per mile of elevation. 2-1/2 miles out of the gate, and 2-3 miles near the 3rd quarter of the hike. Incredible beauty, some indian stuff, and lots of water elements in the spring and winter, quite a few in summer as well.
HOW TECHNICAL IS THE HIKE?
Modestly technical, just a lot of hiking and long uphills, some steep downhills.
WHO CAN DO THIS HIKE?
Anyone fit enough to walk for 10 hours.
WHEN SHOULD I GO?
Any time during the year is good on this hike. Excepting severe rain of course.
Do part of this hike, or parts.
Normal hiking gear, some poison oak, so watch out for that if you get poison oak. Possible wild life, but haven’t seen much that way other than deer.
